Asia Golf Experiences Expands into the Philippines and China

Asia Golf Experiences has expanded its destination portfolio with the addition of the Philippines and China, bringing Clark and Manila in the Philippines, together with Hainan, Shenzhen/Dongguan and Kunming in China, to its international golf travel programme.

The expansion marks the next stage of development for the Southeast Asia-focused golf tour operator, which has built its business around creating customized golf holidays across Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia.

The Philippines represents a particularly interesting opportunity, with Clark emerging as one of the region’s newer golf tourism hubs. Located north of Manila and served by Clark International Airport, the destination combines a growing selection of golf courses with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and other leisure activities. The Philippine Department of Tourism has also identified golf as an important area for future tourism development, launching its first Philippine Golf Experience programme in 2025.

Asia Golf Experiences will offer golf holidays in both Clark and Manila, allowing international golfers to combine the two destinations or use either as a standalone golf break.

China adds a different dimension to the company's portfolio, with Hainan, Shenzhen/Dongguan and Kunming offering very different golf and travel experiences. Hainan provides a tropical resort environment, while the Shenzhen and Dongguan region offers an extensive concentration of golf and easy access to one of China's major commercial centers. Kunming, in Yunnan province, provides a cooler climate and access to some of China's most scenic golf and leisure experiences.

"We've been looking at the Philippines and China for some time, and I think the timing is right to bring them into our programme,” said Ian Morgan, Managing Director of Asia Golf Experiences. "There is a lot of good golf in both countries, but what really interests me is that they offer something different. Clark has the potential to become a very strong multi-course golf destination, while China gives us the chance to put together holidays that combine great golf with experiences that golfers simply won't get elsewhere.”

For Asia Golf Experiences, the expansion is also about strengthening its offering to the international golf travel trade. The company is developing local supplier and contracting relationships in both markets, enabling it to provide overseas golf tour operators with competitively priced, tailor-made programmes rather than simply reselling existing packages.

"We're not looking at these destinations as a box-ticking exercise. We want to know the hotels, the golf courses, the transfers and the people on the ground, and then build holidays that actually work for an international golfer,” said AJ Easton, Managing Partner of Asia Golf Experiences. “That's been the way we've developed our business across Southeast Asia, and we're taking exactly the same approach with the Philippines and China. We're particularly excited about working with other IAGTO operators who may want to add these destinations but don't yet have the local relationships or product in place."

The new destinations are now available for customized golf holidays, FIT programmes and small groups, with Asia Golf Experiences able to work with international operators on individual itineraries and contracted golf and ground arrangements.

The expansion reflects the company's continued focus on identifying emerging golf destinations and making them easier for international golfers and golf tour operators to access. IAGTO currently represents more than 2,500 member companies worldwide, including specialist golf tour operators responsible for more than 90% of golf vacation packages sold globally.

Asia Golf Experiences is an international golf travel company specializing in customized golf holidays and golf travel throughout Asia. Its portfolio now includes destinations across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and China.
